Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to take part in the 4th Swiss Hernia Days from the 9th – 10th of September, 2021 in Basel, Switzerland! The SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic in 2020 is a year none of us will forget. This devastating virus affected all of us and our heart goes out to those of you with irreplaceable loss. We hope that as we enter the next phase of this unforgettable global tragedy that we can move forwards in unity to find some semblance of normalcy. Despite all odds the medical community adapted quickly with endless Web-Based Congresses! Despite the ease of a virtual platform, lack of travel, positive environmental impact…. we missed you all! Therefore, we look forward to hosting you again in Basel for the 4th Swiss Hernia Days.
Once again, we are honored to have many national and international experts and colleagues in our faculty and panels. The conference will focus on new and controversial topics, which are on the horizon of hernia surgery. We look forward to our competitive and lively champions-league, live-surgery broadcasted from the Merian-Iselin-Clinic in Basel, and our series of experts trouble shooting through difficult cases. Awards for the best operation video and an international surgery exchange scholarship will be given out as well. Last but not least, don’t miss out our networking event, which will again surprise you!
In the tradition of Swiss Hernia Days, registration for our junior surgeons remains free; hoping to increase accessibility to experts and top quality surgical education.
It is also an honor for us to announce the 1st Swiss Hernia Days Cadaver Workshop, which will take place on the 8th of September 2021 in the Anatomical Institute of the University Basel. Please note, that the number of participants is limited to 20.
